THE RUSTLANDS

Basic Overview

The Rustlands is one of the Planets apart of the Combine. It hosts a humid, sandlike enviroment host to a lot of different people. While it's Monolith focuses on mining minerals, The Rustlands settlements are given fair freedom to government themselves. It hosts 1.4 billion people, Making it one of the more populated once, it's people are stereotyped to be poor.

Geography

The Rustlands has multiple biome-types in it. The vast majority is nicknamed 'The Bloodlands", a long red dessert.

Theres also the Worselands, extremely tall layered red plateau's that resemble labyrinths.

Another notable feature of The Rustlands are the "Big Holes", Extremely big deep holes going near the core. Most come in clusters, while some are more solitary.

Roughly every year there's 'The Flush', where The Holes start expelling blood up above, causing minor flooding for a couple of days, until it leaks back into the sand. This feature helps The Rustlands heal itself, making it fantastic for mining.

The Sky is a strong blue color. It also isn't a very hot place, and the temperature is consistent, not too hot or too warm (though it does get more humid during 'the flush')

Animalia

'Big Worms' are rarer, but are the biggest threat malignant wise. Despite being named Worms, they resemble massive centipedes with many legs and sections. Big Worms

'Ankle Biters' are red worms that blend in with the sand. Theyre blind, only detecting movement and crawl through the upper sand. They latch onto those they find and start draining them of blood, only to burrow back until theyre hungry again.

"Tumblers" are tuffs of fur that run and bounce around. They make good pets.

Governing

The Monolith of The Rustlands is 'DeepReach Industries', a Mining company. Despite the old style of the town, Deepreach uses high-technology to create mining quarries across the Rustlands.

They handle things very hands-off, and are aware of the deep banditing problem outside of their domains, but don't care.

Their one main rule is 'Dont fuck with our property'. DeepReach zones are incredibly clear and apparent, and if you try to interrupt any of their operations, youre donezo. DeepReach zones have many signs warning youre coming across DR property. Their main properties have tall metal walls, and their smaller sites (usually around big holes) have tall chained fences protecting from it.

The Rustlands is widely accepted to be an anarchist place.
